Datuk Maimoonah Hussain

Datuk Maimoonah Hussain was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Ekuiti Nasional Berhad (Ekuinas) on 1 May 2021. She is also a member of the Investment Committee.

Datuk Maimoonah is an accomplished banker with over 40 years’ experience, specialising in debt capital markets, structured finance, asset management, securities and investment banking. She has worked with leading global financial and banking institutions like Morgan Grenfell and Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore, and recently Affin Hwang Capital group based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

She led the successful merger of Affin Investment Bank and Hwang DBS Investment Bank, exceeding all merger targets, she was instrumental in building the business and franchise, and transformed Affin Investment Bank to become one of the leading players in Malaysia, recognised as ‘Overall Best Equities House’ by Bursa Malaysia for five consecutive years.

Datuk Maimoonah sat on various boards within the Affin Hwang group including Affin Fund, Affin Hwang Asset Management and Affin Hwang Trustee. Her contributions have been recognised through various awards, notably Singapore Business Award for Outstanding Overseas Executive and Asian CEO of the Year and Malaysian CEO with HR orientation by World HRD Congress in 2019.

Datuk Maimoonah is a Chartered Banker, she graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy from the National University of Singapore.
